BRUCE ALLEN

BRUCE ALLEN is a major force in the music world. Born in 1945 in Vancouver, BC, he attended the University of British Columbia before turning his attention to the entertainment industry. In 1966, he began BRUCE ALLEN TALENT which became the dominant booking agency in Western Canada. Most acts that played west of Winnipeg were booked by BRUCE ALLEN, and the Vancouver music scene, that today is home to major musical talents, was off and running.

In 1973, he assumed the managerial reigns of the fledgling BACHMAN TURNER OVERDRIVE and guided them to the top of the North American and U.K. pop charts. BTO sold out stadiums around the world and to this day, still hold many attendance records in the US, Canada and Japan. As the 70’s came to a close BRUCE ALLEN started looking for another act to guide to the top. In 1981, he found that act - LOVERBOY. Since their inception, they have sold over 7 million records, won 8 Juno Awards, won a Crystal Globe Award (album sales exceeding 5 million outside their native country), been awarded 13 gold and 5 platinum albums and have been nominated for 2 Grammy and numerous MTV Awards.

Next up, BRYAN ADAMS whose career continues to be an unprecedented success. The ADAMS/ALLEN team has sold in excess of 60 million records worldwide, had a #1 Album "Reckless", and four #1 singles "Heaven", “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You", "All For Love" and "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?" ADAMS has also chalked up #1 hits Worldwide; Bryan has the longest standing #1 single in the United Kingdom with "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" at 24 weeks. Without a doubt, BRYAN ADAMS is one of the most well known Canadians today. He has raised funds and awareness for Amnesty International, The Prince's Trust charity, Greenpeace and Breast Cancer research. Besides his musical career, he has established himself as an outstanding photographer with three books (MADE IN CANADA, HAVEN & CALVIN KLEIN – AMERICAN WOMEN) featuring his black and white portraits. In 2001, ADAMS was one of a select group of photographers who were given the honour of photographing Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. In 2004, that portrait was made into a Canadian stamp. BRYAN has also shot for fashion magazines such as VOGUE, MARIE CLAIRE, FLARE, and Australia’s GQ. ADAMS has just released a 25 year retrospective of his career entitled “Anthology”.

In 1985, BRUCE ALLEN was instrumental in coordinating Canada's contribution to African famine relief. The recording of "Tears Are Not Enough" brought together Canada's finest artists to raise funds for the starving people in Ethiopia.

Always on the look-out for other fields to conquer, ALLEN looked south to Nashville. ALLEN's foray into the country music arena has proven to be extremely successful as he guides the career of RCA Records country recording artist MARTINA McBRIDE. MARTINA has released 8 albums to date, with her Greatest Hits album selling over three million copies. Her #1 hits include; “Independence Day”, “Wild Angels”, “A Broken Wing”, “Valentine”, “I Love You”, “Happy Girl”, “Wrong Again”, “Blessed” and “Concrete Angel”. The Country Music Association awarded her Female Vocalist of the Year in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004. MARTINA is only the third person to win 3 CMA Female Vocalist Awards (Reba McIntyre and Tammy Wynette have been the others). This year MARTINA released “Timeless” – an album of classic country songs.

BRUCE ALLEN is also at the management helm of Canada's legendary singer ANNE MURRAY. MURRAY, whose career spans over 30 years, is a multi-award-winning artist with a long and distinguished list of accomplishments and hits including "Snowbird", "You Needed Me", "Love Song", "A Little Good News" and "Danny's Song". In 1998, her live in-concert CD featuring ANNE's performances with CELINE DION and BRYAN ADAMS brought critical acclaim, and her collection of classics entitled "What A Wonderful World" features ANNE singing inspirational favourites. This collection has been certified platinum (over one million copies sold), and is one of her most popular releases to date. A Christmas double CD set was released in 2001 called “What A Wonderful Christmas” and a holiday TV special followed. This was followed by “Country Croonin” and this past year, saw the release of “I’ll Be Seeing You” a collection of hits from the Tin Pan Alley era. ANNE continues to tour throughout the world and her steady record sales are a testimonial to the international popularity that she has earned.

The newest addition to BRUCE ALLEN TALENT is Vancouver’s own swinging sensation, MICHAEL BUBLÉ. His self titled CD is a tribute to the time honoured standards of music’s most enduring songs but with a fresh, unique style entirely his own. Performing across the globe with an 8-member swing band, the New York Times acclaims, “Bublé drips with star quality; he is playful, charming and an excellent storyteller, commanding the stage like a natural entertainer.” His current CD “IT’S TIME” has picked up where the first one left off, continuing to catapult BUBLE to a new level of success.

BRUCE also guides the career of world-class record producers BOB ROCK (Metallica, The Cult, Bon Jovi, Veruca Salt, Tal Bachman, Bryan Adams, and Our Lady Peace). He also oversaw the career of the late BRUCE FAIRBAIRN (Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Aerosmith, the Cranberries, KISS and YES).

BRUCE ALLEN is involved in Vancouver nightlife and owns/co-owns some of the cities most popular nightspots including Gotham Steak House & Cocktail Bar and one of Vancouver's legendary showrooms, The Commodore Ballroom.

BRUCE has also brought his controversial style to the airwaves. He hosted one of the country's most exciting one-hour radio talk shows, "Sound Off With Bruce Allen" on CFOX for 16 years. ALLEN also has his weekly "Bruce Break" that airs every Friday morning on JACK radio. The most recent addition to his busy schedule has been “Reality Check” on Vancouver’s highest rated station CKNW radio where BRUCE sets the record straight with his forthright opinions and a sports commentary on MOJO Radio.
